Rocket City Homeschool Co-op

MISSION STATEMENT

Rocket City Homeschool Co-op (RCHC) offers a safe, affordable environment to build diverse friendships among homeschooling families and seeks to provide a variety of learning and service opportunities.

All Families Welcome

Children playing a game of tug-of-war indoors, all wearing blue T-shirts, on a gym floor with colorful flags in the background.

We are a secular co-op and welcome families of all backgrounds, including but not limited to religion, ethnicity, race, and gender.

We also understand that a traditional classroom setting is not appropriate for all children. While we do pride ourselves on being understanding and accepting of all persons and are willing to accommodate when appropriate and possible, it is essential that parents determine if an event, field trip, or classroom setting is appropriate for their child.

FAQs

When do you meet?

Most events occur on Thursdays from August through mid May between 10 AM and noon. We also host summer meetups.

How much does it cost?

Registration Fee: $150 per family; non- refundable

Semester Dues: $30 per child ages 2 and up

Will you be hosting classes this year?

Due to our unexpected loss of facility, we are not hosting classes this year. We will still meet every Thursday. Activities will include meetups, holiday events, academic opportunities, field trips, and service opportunities.

Is this a drop-off program?

No, caregivers must remain with their child and volunteer to be a member of our co-op.

We recognize that all homeschool families look different. The caregiver can be the child’s parent, adult family member, nanny, etc.

Am I required to complete a background check?

Yes, all participating adults must complete a comprehensive background check. One background check is included in your registration fee.

Should two or more adults be participating frequently, an additional background check will be ordered and an invoice for the additional background check will be sent to the additional adult. Background checks vary between $23 and $35 depending on how many previous locations the individual has lived.
