Rocket City Homeschool Co-op (RCHC) offers a safe, affordable environment to build diverse friendships among homeschooling families and seeks to provide a variety of learning and service opportunities.

We are a secular co-op and welcome families of all backgrounds, including but not limited to religion, ethnicity, race, and gender.

When do you meet?
Thursdays from Noon to 2 PM August through mid May.
Where do you meet?
Most events take place at Weatherly Heights Baptist Church - 1306 Cannstatt Dr SE, Huntsville, AL 35803.
How much does it cost?
$150 per family; one-time yearly fee; non- refundable
Will you be hosting classes this year?
No, we are not hosting classes this year. We will meet every Thursday for a dedicated lunch & play time. We also will host activities including meetups, holiday events, academic opportunities, field trips, and service opportunities.
Am I required to complete a background check?
Yes, all participating adults must complete a comprehensive background check. One background check is included in your registration fee.
Should two or more adults be participating frequently, an additional background check will be ordered and an invoice for the additional background check will be sent to the additional adult. Background checks vary between $23 and $35 depending on how many previous locations the individual has lived.

You have access to all events, including but not limited to:

i.e. Valentine’s Dance

i.e. Science Fair, Wax Museum, Art Show, Field Day, etc.

Service Opportunities
Is this a drop-off program?
No, caregivers must remain with their child and volunteer to be a member of our co-op.
We recognize that all homeschool families look different. The caregiver can be the child’s parent, adult family member, nanny, etc.
What is the parent commitment?
As a true cooperative, parents must volunteer for their families to participate in this program.
Each caregiver will be expected to help plan one holiday or academic event.
Families that do not fulfill the volunteer requirement will not be allowed to return the following year and will forfeit any monies paid (as registration fees, etc.)
